Gender mainstreaming training

Within Torture Prevention and Rehabilitation Programme, funded by European Union, International Aid Network IAN organized Gender mainstreaming training for members of grass root organisations, associates on the project and IAN's project team.
Training was held in hotel „Palace“ in Belgrade, on March 6-7th for 15 members of organisations Dusa, AS and Novi svet and on March 14th for 20 members of IAN's project team, conducted by Mirjana Barbulovic and Zaklina Veselinovic, experienced Gender Equality trainers. |

The main aims of the training were to make participants aware of gender equality issues, to introduce gender sensitive and critical overview on situation in Serbia and also to motivate participants to share the gained knowledge with other colleagues from their mother organizations and wider. |
|
|
|
Training agenda covered basic understanding of sex and gender, gender roles of men and women, indicators of inequality in different areas, domination techniques, international and national legal and institutional framework and mechanisms for improving the position of women as well as statistical and empirical data about men and women positions in Serbia, gender sensitive language in the context of political correct language as well as introduction of gender mainstreaming in organizations. |

Questionnaires that were given to participants before and after the training showed significant improvement of knowledge in the field of gender equality.
