WORKSHOP VOLUNTEERISM, ACTIVISM AND COOPERATION IN A LOCAL COMMUNITY
On 2nd and 3rd July International Aid Network organized a workshop Volunteerism, activism and cooperation in a local community planned within the component focused on capacity building and transfer of knowledge among the partners in the cross-border project supporting refugees and returnees in Serbia and Croatia . The workshop was run by trainers with rich practical experience in this field, Siniša Mitrović and Sanela Maul, from the Youth Peace Group Danube from Vukovar, one of partner organisations in this project . |
The workshop attracted participants who are active members in their communities and who wanted to learn more about the ways of acting and achieving impact in the local community. Volunteers and activists from different NGOs from Belgrade , Pančevo and Niš showed great interest and commitment to their work and they improved their knowledge and skills in a creative way. Through interesting group exercises and games they learned about cooperation, team work and partnership, how to encourage cooperation with other stakeholders in a society as well as with other organisations in the region, how to plan joint actions and identify and resolve problems through cooperation/partnerships. The participants also heard a lot about the possibilities of volunteering through EU programs, work camps and youth networks, as well as about different types of volunteer engagement.
The workshop was held on 2 nd and 3 rd July in Belgrade, and then in Novi Sad on 5 th and 6 th July where it was hosted by another project partner organisation - Novi Sad Humanitarian Centre.
