Notice to the Public

With the conclusion of the 29 th session of the Housing and Property Claims Commission, in the end of April, decisions have been made on 27.000 out of the 29.000 claims filed with the Housing and Property Directorate (HPD).

The completion of HPD's work is foreseen for the end of 2005. In the time to come it will concentrate its efforts on implementing these decisions.

The Directorate therefore appeals to the claimants who:

•  filed a claim with the HPD, and have not yet been contacted with information on the decision; or

•  were formally notified of the decision on their claims, but have not yet informed the HPD on how they wish to proceed with the implementation of these;

to please contact one of its offices, as soon as possible.

Illegal occupants of a claimed property should release it voluntarily now by delivering its keys to the HPD. All those found in an illegal situation will be evicted.

Those who believe their specific conditions warrant exceptional social are advised to present their cases to Municipalities, as they are the responsible authority for social housing issues (Section 3.1, K, UNMIK Regulation 2000/45)
