General medical help Providing medicaments in addition to psychological and medical help represents a very important part of the rehabilitation of our clients. Our psychotherapeutic and psychosocial help have full impact only in combination with psycho-pharmacotherapy. Torture victims are especially at risk for developing various psychosomatic and somatic complaints. The CRTTV clients are provided with medical assistance at the Mitrovic clinic and within mobile teams, in the form of free internal-medicine and cardiological examinations (which include the glycaemia analysis, blood pressure check, physical examination, and electrocardiography, cardiac and abdominal ultrasonography). The specialists in internal medicine are employed by the Mitrovic clinic. The general practitioner has the task of conducting basic medical examinations and suggesting appropriate treatment, as well as prescribing appropriate pharmacotherapy. He/she recommends further medical treatment and refers to specialist medical examinations if it is determined that such examinations are necessary.
