News Dr Vladimir Jović New Member of the Board of Trustees of the UN Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture Posted on 4. September 2020. 2 min read 0 0 410 It is with great pleasure that we announce that Prof. dr Vladimir Jović, the founder and an essential part of the IAN expert team, has been appointed a member of the Board of Trustees of the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture (UNVFVT). At the suggestion and recommendation of the IAN, as well as the support of the IRCT (International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims), the candidacy of Prof. dr Jović for a board member was sent. Following the approval by the Executive Office of the Secretary-General of United Nations, upon request by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretary-General has appointed Prof. dr Jović as Member of the Board of Trustees of the Fund. The engagement will last for three years. This appointment represents a huge success and reward for professional achievements and efforts, both for Prof. dr Jović personally and for our organization, in the continuous commitment in the field of protection of victims of torture and the fight for human rights. Also, the appointment of representatives from this region speaks of the success of all organizations active in the field of the protection of the rights of the most vulnerable in our society and in this region.
