News SUPPORT FOR WOMEN Posted on 26. December 2023. 1 min read 0 0 89 In observance of the 16 Days of Activism, during November and December, IAN organized gynecological examinations, breast ultrasounds, and other analyses to support women refugees who are victims of torture, sexual violence, and abuse. In total, 29 examinations were conducted for 23 women, with 14 of them being accommodated in the AC Krnjača. In addition to caring for mental health, it is important to support women by taking care of their physical health. Women from vulnerable groups, such as refugees, often face limited access to state health institutions due to a lack of health insurance. Therefore, we considered it important to support them in this way. This action was carried out as part of the project ‘Early Identification and Adequate Assistance to Victims of Torture among Refugees from the Middle East and North Africa,’ supported by the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture (UNVFVT) in collaboration with the Commissioner for Refugees and Migrations (KIRS).
