Projects Trainings on psychosocial and medical support to refugees and asylum seekers Posted on 25. November 2016. 1 min read 0 0 72 In 2016, IAN in cooperation with Medecines Du Monde (MDM) in Serbia organized two trainings on psychosocial and medical support to refugees and asylum seekers. The main objective of the training was improvement of quality of service delivery to refugees in the field, through empowerment of all helpers working in the field. Specific objectives were: increased knowledge about trauma, physical and psychological consequences of trauma, psychological status of refuges, knowledge about process of burn-out, knowledge on adequate communication with traumatised persons, etc. 43 persons were trained. Training participants were health care workers (medical doctors, nurses), as well as psychologists, social workers, interpreters and members of Commissariat for refugees. They all worked in the field of provision of direct support to refugees and migrants in Serbia. Trainings were accredited by Health Council of Serbia.
