First capacity building training for staff of newly established CRTV in Prilep

First capacity building training for staff working in Centre for Civil Initiative (CCI) in Prilep was organised by IAN within the project Holistic Action against Torture. IAN is implementing project in partnership with Centre for Human Rights Nis and CCI in Prilep.  Within this project IAN plans to hold three more trainings by the end of the year with the aim of strengthening and training the CCI organisation to establish a Centre for the Rehabilitation of Torture Victims in the Former Federal Republic of Macedonia.

First capacity building training covered topics related to UN Convention against Torture, recommendation of UN Committee against Torture (UN CAT), activities on joint project. Methodology of work, comprehensive rehabilitation, creation of services for torture victims were also part of the training curriculum.

Staff working in CCI and CCI consultants that will provide services to victims of torture and/or will lobby for the implementation of UN CAT recommendations were training participants.
